Comments :   Wow, did I have a bad race. But that wasn't the fault of the organizers :-) The event was great.

Comments :   While we had a good time at the race, it was not my favorite and would not recommend for a first marathon or 1/2. The course was downright ugly in places, with the first several miles running through the 'hood. The crowd support was also not great, especially during the middle miles. Also, for the price, the T-shirt should not be cotton. On the good side, the organization was very good, esp. for an event that large. The expo was probably one of the best I've been to.

Comments :   Had to rate this a 5 as it was my 10th marathon and it was a new PR. This is the 3rd time I did this race. Last year was extremely cold and this year the weather was perfect. The crowd support was better than ever. The course isn't that scenic, but it isn't horrible either. The only thing I didn't like this year was the nasty tasting peach accelerade.

Comments :   Last years weather was very uncommon....I have run this every year (5 years straight) and last year was the coldest recorded temperature in 15 years! Most years are very mild - shorts and sleevelss shirt. The race is huge...about 35,000 total with 1/2 and full. It is an overwhelming start with that many people! The bands along the route are awesome...the course is flat but not very scenic. It finishes at ASU so has plenty of elbow room for that many runners and spectators. Buses to the start has been the main complaint over the past 5 years - but with that many runners what do you expect! Free concert in the evening with you bib - there has been Goo Goo Dolls (pretty good), Collective Soul (awesome), Jason Mraz (skipped and went to a movie), Gin Blossoms (good) and they haven't announced this years yet. T-shirts are cheap cotton - need technical for price to run the race. The expo is about as good as it gets.
